The bird seemed almost delivered to me when I encountered it dead cradled in the bough of a tree at eye level. I had been flying back and forth between cities to attend to a work obligation in LA and my father's dying in Phoenix. As another vessel, I include it in this series.

The hovering disc painted in the upper left corner depicts a work I created for my father's passing by hammering the form of a bowl out of a sheet of lead on the top of a fire hydrant I found on a hill in Venice, CA. Later, I roughly cut a hole in the bottom and etched the outside surface while adding gold leaf to the interior surface (a reference to Anasazi funerary pottery and Jung's account of forming the alchemic vessel in Celtic myth).
